Use the same limits

Look at liability limits, deductibles, uninsured/underinsured motorist protection, rental reimbursement and roadside assistance, where applicable. A cheaper quote that removes needed coverage may not be a better fit.

Read what is excluded

Some policies have exclusions, restrictions on vehicle use, and special conditions affecting household drivers or business travel. Ask the licensed insurer or agent to clarify points you do not understand before paying.

Track the entire quote

Write down the insurer, effective date, term length, limits, deductibles, total premium, available payment options, fees and quote expiration. Store the written quote—not just a screenshot of the headline price.
